Aaah geeee. I guess you're correct Miss Harlot. Comments have been few and far between. I am one of the avid readers that has not made a comment, but I certainly enjoy reading every descriptive word entered by all contributors. Of course, I'm partial to the writing of my most brilliant son - a mom's perogative. I'm so glad that Chris has wonderful friends with whom to share his love for Italy. I am extremely jealous of all of you!
By the way, Chris, thanks for incorporating picures of people. Chris Calloway, you have many very artistic photos, but the mom in me likes to see more smiling faces in front of those fantastic sights.
Dad and I are off to Atlanta tomorrow to participate in the primitive rituals of the barbaric game of college football while basking in nostalgia with our old college friends. You guys enjoy the Siciian sights.
Do you kids plan to scale Etna? The more I look into it, the confuseder I get. Bus, cable car, then 4WD is an option, I suppose. But I'm really hoping to do the last bit on foot. Preferably without paying someone 100 or more euros.
Love the pictures. I think the kittens are starting to really miss you. The longer you are gone, the more clingy they have become, especially Ginger. I think they will be very happy to see you. They're both doing just fine, though.
I enjoyed Uzeda a good bit. Laura, less so, probably. We both agree that the sound guy was running things too loud, although I have to admit it was a very good sound system--extraordinarily loud, undistorted, clear sound. But too loud.
As far as getting up Etna, we got a ride from the professor today up a little ways, although the weather continues to not be that great and we ended up getting stuck in the fog. I don't know that there's any public transport that isn't going to be very slow and frustrating, but maybe we could rent a car. The number of people that will be here when you're here will make rides from friends unwieldly, as we wouldn't all fit in one car. We'll see.
I'm very jealous y'all got to see Uzeda. Sorry about the lack of smailing faces, Mama Rossi. There were just the two of us and we were both ill most of the time I was there. Plus, I get mesmerized by architecture and big spaces. Plus, I'm not such a good photographer. Plus, both my cameras were acting up.
